What is the best tile for a shower floor?
Smaller-format tiles with more grout lines give better slip resistance and drainage. Porcelain mosaic, natural stone mosaic, and textured ceramic all work well. Glass tile should never be used on a shower floor.
How do you waterproof a tile shower?
We install a proper waterproofing membrane system over a correctly prepared substrate, seal all corners and penetrations, and slope the floor to the drain before tiling. This is what keeps water from reaching the framing behind the tile.
