Tile & Stone Works LLC · Charlotte, NC · Projects Nationwide
Large porcelain tile for lobbies, offices, retail and high-end interiors — installed flat, with tight, consistent joints.
Large-format tile is unforgiving. The bigger the tile, the flatter the substrate has to be and the more the setting method matters. Tile & Stone Works LLC installs large-format porcelain for commercial lobbies, offices, retail spaces and high-end residential projects in Charlotte and beyond.
We check and correct floor flatness before setting, use mortars and back-buttering suited to large tile, and use leveling systems to keep edges flush. The goal is full mortar coverage under every tile and a floor that stays tight under traffic.

In the U.S. installation standards, large-format tile is any tile with at least one edge 15 inches or longer. Common sizes today run from 12×24 inches up to large porcelain panels.
Large tiles cannot follow dips and humps the way small tiles can. An uneven floor leads to lippage, hollow spots and cracked tile, so we flatten the substrate before installing.
Yes. Wall installations need the right mortar, careful layout and support while the mortar cures. We install large-format tile on lobby walls, feature walls and showers.
